The road to success in Hollywood is paved with dreams, successes and plenty of failures. Perseverance pays off. And that's the lesson we learn from writer, director and producer, Tom Blomquist. He is not a name that should be known by magicians, but he has stories that can relate to our art.
Tom is a Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity brother of mine from the early 1970's (Southern Illinois University) and our lives have gone in diverse directions since then. But we reconnected as two old friends as if no time had passed. He became successful in a town where people live with broken dreams, but he made his come true.
He currently teaches at California State University, Long Beach, and published a book "Eye of the Storm: Directing for Film, Television, and Emerging Media" For more information on the fascinating life of Tom Blomquist, you can learn more on the Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB) or view his information on the Cal State faculty website..
