Harry Maurer (pronounced like "power") took a few minutes to chat with Scott after his "Perfection of Deception" lecture at Lone Star College. He gave us some highlights and recapped some of his favorite parts of the lecture. He also discussed how this lecture evolved and where he wants to go with it. Moreover, he took a little time to talk about the state of the cruise ship industry as it affects magicians.

Harry is a full time professional magician residing in Houston who spends most of the year entertaining on cruise ships around the world. When on land, he frequently performs in Atlantic City where he has been twice nominated for "Entertainer of the Year". He also performs at colleges and for corporate affairs. Harry is one of the busiest magicians in Texas..and who has some of the most business savvy of any magician I have ever met.

The Perfection of Deception - A Lecture by Harry Maurer

On January 25, 2012 Harry Maurer presented a scholarly lecture to an enraptured audience of nearly 200 people at the Lone Stat College CyFair which is just north of Houston, Texas. Harry's 50 minute talk was enlightening, insightful, fresh and entertaining. He spoke about Jean Eugene Robert-Houdin and how he squelched a rebellion and prevented a war, Houdini acting as a spy for the British, John Mullholland writing the Deception Manual for the C.I.A. (Central Intelligence Agency), John Nevil Maskelyne whose "Magic Gang" successfully cloaked tanks, militia and entire cities during World War II, and much, much more.

Harry is a proud member of Toastmasters and attributes some of his speaking skills to this fine organization. Though as a successful magician and internationally recognized, professional magician who holds a theatre degree, Toastmasters is only the "gravy" on his long time successful stage career.
Harry plans to present this lecture to any organization who would like to book him. For more informaion on Harry and how to contact him, visit his website at: http://www.HMMagic.com
